Himalayan Aid is a Nepal registered Non-Governmental Organization as well as a U.S. non-profit 501(c)(3). We work exclusively in the Himalayan regions of Nepal to provide earthquake relief and earthquake-resistant construction solutions in accordance with the mandates of the Nepal National Reconstruction Authority, the Nepal Social Welfare Council, and the Nepal Home Ministry.
Our field projects also extend to providing maternal sanitation and hygiene education in partnership with the construction of basic water and sanitation facilities in rural Nepal. We also provide for the basic needs of Kathmandu”s many orphanages through our “One at a Time” assistance program–which also mandates the use of educational materials and other resources to prevent child trafficking.
We are constantly in need of volunteers; so if you are considering a trip to Nepal and are interested in actual hands-on work, contact us. We will find a place for you that both meets our needs and best utilizes your abilities.
We have been working non-stop since the April 25 earthquake and have delivered over 80 tons of aid material to the field. This video gives a good sense of what we’ve been doing for the last nine months.
